Or Elo, for short.

After almost 10 years in the Auckland advertising industry, I was feeling ready for a change of scenery.

So my husband and I packed up our dog, ditched the
big city lights, and bought a movie theatre down in sunny Whakatane.

I quickly snapped up the chance to take all those years of experience writing for big businesses, and bundle them up into a business of my own.

And just like that, HelloElo Copywriting was born.

Now, from a cosy little office in the Bay of Plenty, my words worm
their way all over the country.

A brief history of Elo Jack…

2010

My carefree university years wrapped up, with a first-class honours Bachelor of Visual Communication Design, majoring in advertising.

2011

I started at Auckland advertising agency Colenso BBDO as a plucky young Account Executive, working on Burger King and TVNZ.

2012

I scored 2nd place at AWARD School, Australasia's top advertising training programme.

2013

AdMedia named me their Creative Rookie of the Year.

2013-2015

I made the move into Colenso BBDO’s creative department, where I wrote everything from TV, print, and radio - to eDMs, websites, and integrated campaigns.

2014

A very curious blog I started accidentally went super viral. It’s a long, strange story that you can read all about over at the HelloElo blog.

2015

I left NZ for a cheeky OE in the UK. Working at Y&R London, I wrote for clients like M&S, the BBC, TUI Airways, Denone Yoghurt, and a whole bunch more.

2016-2018

Home was calling, so I headed back to Colenso BBDO - writing for Spark, BNZ, Fonterra, Mainland, DB, New World, Visa, and more, picking up an award or two along the way.

2018

Itching for a change, my partner and I packed up and moved to the Bay of Plenty.

I’m spear-heading HelloElo Copywriting. Gift-wrapping all those years of big-brand copywriting experience, and delivering them to clients all over the country.
