Spark NZ: Santaline

About This Project


The brief:

For 24 Christmases, Kiwi kids have been ringing Spark’s Santaline, to leave the big man their wish-list. But, being Santa’s busiest time of year, every call has always gone to voicemail. For Christmas 2017, Spark wanted to change things up – to give the service a refresh, and a new, modern twist.


The solution:

We recruited a network of old friends from Metlifecare Retirement Villages, to help answer children’s calls to Santaline.

They manned the phones daily in the weeks leading up to Christmas, excited to hear the country’s wish-lists. And for the very first time, Kiwi kids ringing up Santaline had their calls answered by a real person.

It was Spark’s way of connecting two different generations of Kiwis, and helping one phone-call make two Christmases just that little bit more magical.
